ARPwave Philosophy

Injury:
We believe all injury is the direct result of the muscle's inability to absorb force.

There are two main reasons muscles cannot absorb force:

1. The nervous system, which normally activates the muscle to absorb force, sends a weakened signal which will not effectively turn on the muscle.

a. We call this "Out of Balance" and requires our doctor to prescribe regiments which increase the strength of the signal that turns on the muscle, so it will absorb force properly.

2. The muscles have been trained predominantly in concentric contraction not allowing full range of motion in eccentric contraction.

a. The shorter a muscle is, the less force it can absorb.
b. The longer and more supple a muscle is, the more force it can absorb. The ARP will increase range of motion allowing the muscle to get into full eccentric contraction which allows the muscle to absorb 10 times more force.

Pain:
Our philosophy is that pain is caused by a muscle in concentric contraction protecting an injured or inflamed area.

1. The location you feel the pain is where the problem ended not where it originated. a. We use the ARP to find the muscle which failed and re-educate the muscle or muscles thus eliminating the pain.

ARP Treatment:
All ARP treatments work on the principle that joint problems, tears, sprains, fractures, or repetitive task injuries are caused by muscles not properly absorbing force. This energy propagates to tissue not intended to accept the force. We find the muscles that are incapable of doing their job and treat them to eliminate the cause. Most of the time, the symptom of pain or weakness will be resolved. We do not treat the specific bone fracture, joint problem, or tear, but treat the muscles so they can do their job supporting these areas.

ARP treatments will regain muscle strength from neurological conditions, strokes, and spinal cord injuries. We have created Protocols to greatly enhance the quality of life for those with the above situations. This is accomplished by strengthening the muscles affected due to these circumstances.

ARP PHILOSOPHY OF THERAPY

The ARP philosophy is centered on finding the trigger points which are activating muscles to be in a counter productive compensation pattern to avoid pain.

This philosophy directs us to work on the muscles which are being activated preventing correct movement.

The ARP is a tool to find those main trigger points and relax those muscles, allowing pain free movement by manipulating the gate theory of pain.
